Sinn 6096 Frankfurt World Time Watch

The Model 6096 Frankfurt World Time Watch is an automatic GMT watch from Sinn produced since 2018 and is the eleventh model in the Sinn Frankfurt Financial District line. It replaced the Model 6090 "Large Date" model.

Overview

In 1999, Sinn added a model to celebrate the company's home city of Frankfurt and to appeal to the business and finance professionals there. The Frankfurt Financial District Watch was designed to reflect the sensibilities of the German businessman, with clean utilitarian lines, a restrained black dial, and stainless steel case. And, reflecting the international appeal of Frankfurt, the Frankfurt Financial District Watch was designed to show the time in multiple timezones. The company suggested that it could keep track of the time in New York and Tokyo, two other major stock exchanges, while showing the local time in Frankfurt.

The original Model 6000 Frankfurt Financial District Watch was an automatic chronograph but the company added the four handed Model 6060 late in 2001. Both watches have an independently adjustable hand for a second timezone with an internal rotating bezel for a third. The line was "up-sized" starting with the Model 6090 Large Date model in 2012 with a new 41.5 mm case. But the classic four-handed Model 6060 remained at 38.5 mm for over 15 years.

After the Model 6090 Big Date was retired in 2016, Sinn took two more years to introduce a larger variant of the venerable Model 6060. Finally, in 2018, this Model 6096 appeared. Apart from the larger case, Model 6090 is nearly identical to Model 6060. The only visible difference is a framed date window at 6:00 instead of hidden in the 24 hour scale at 4:30.

Like later versions of Model 6060, Model 6096 is equipped with the ETA 2893-2 movement. Visible through a sapphire display caseback, it features a "bull and bear" motif engraved on the rotor.
