Valdar was a machine tool company in [[l'Orient]] in the [[Vallée de Joux]] founded in [[1918]] by Charles Meylan. The Valdar name appears in [[1922]], with the company incorporating as SA Valdar in [[1928]]. The firm took over production of the [[Triovis]] fine adjustment system in [[1981]]. In [[1991]] Valdar was purchased by [[Investcorp]] and it was paired with [[Montres Breguet]] and [[Nouvelle Lemania]] in [[1995]] under Groupe Breguet. This was sold to [[Swatch Group]] in [[1999]].
