The JLC 978 is a tourbillon watch movement from Jaeger-LeCoultre.
The 978 (and derivative 978B) is an automatic movement made up of 302 pieces. It runs at 28,800 vph, has 33 jewels, and a power reserve of 48 hours.
Jaeger-LeCoultre currently uses this calibre in 11 watches, making it their most-common by number of watches but the high cost and component count make it one of their least-produced calibres. The 978 measures 7.05 mm high, while the 978B is 7.10 mm high as it adds a dual timezone function.
