Jumping Second is a wristwatch by Habring.
The series "Jumping second" from the Austrian company Habring includes both models with manual winding and also with automatic winding. The watches are equipped with the Calibre A07, specially developed at Habring, for "Austria 2007", that has the complication of a jumping second. This function has its origins in watches for doctors, which in this way could determine a precise pulse. The time span of the seconds leap is only a few hundredths of seconds and thus seems much more precise than any electronically controlled clock.
The jumping second is available with several other complications such as power reserve indicator, UTC display, full calendar and even with a tourbillon. The buyer can customize the model in many ways, so with the dials it is possible to choose between galvanized metal in blue or black, but also silvered or gilded red, and special sheets are available upon request. The hands, hour indices and numerals can be ordered gilded or rhodinated, the automatic model is coated with Superluminova.
The watch is delivered in a three-piece wooden case made of Douglas fir, with spare specialist parts, where a winding crown, a complete set of seals and a set of hands are contained. A leather travel case, closed with a reserve watchband, is also added on request.
Each watch is numbered and only built to order. Only twelve watches per series are manufactured.
