Three generations of men named Charles Hahn were involved in the ebauche factory of Hahn Frères in Le Landeron.

Charles-Alfred Hahn

Charles-Alfred Hahn was born in the 1820s in La Chaux-de-Fonds. His father was apparently also Aimé-Auguste Hahn like his brother.

After his brother Aimé-Auguste Hahn's joint venture with David-Henri Tissot-Vougeux failed in 1844, the two brothers started their own company. Called Hahn Frères, it was officially established on December 31, 1844.

Charles-Alfred Hahn died in 1875 or 1876, leaving his share of the company to his son, also named Charles Hahn.

Charles Hahn-Leuzinger

The second generation to operate the family firm was also named Charles Hahn. He was born around 1853 in La Chaux-de-Fonds and married a woman named Leuzinger in 1879.

He formed a joint venture with his uncle Aimé-Auguste Hahn and La Chaux-de-Fonds watchmaker Charles-Frédéric Couleru in 1879 to operate the factory. This was dissolved and renamed Charles Hahn & Cie in 1889, with Aimé-Auguste no longer an owner.

Charles Hahn-Leuzinger died on November 16, 1932 at the age of 79.

Charles-Alfred Hahn-Bürger

Charles-Alfred Hahn was born in 1880. He married Germaine Mathilde Pauline Juliette née Burger.

The third generation Charles Hahn joined the company's management in 1907.

On October 25, 1912, Charles-Alfred Hahn took over the firm completely.

Charles Hahn-Bürger died on February 17, 1953 at 73 years of age.
