- 1943 — Corporal Clive James Nutting, one of the organizers of The Great Escape, orders a Rolex Oyster Chronograph for delivery to Stalag Luft III, where he was a prisoner of war. The company sends the watch free of charge.
- 2011 — Swatch Group signs an agreement with Liquidmetal Technologies, giving the group exclusive rights to use the material in watchmaking.
