- 1815 — Glashütte watchmaker Ferdinand Adolph Lange is born. He founds the firm A. Lange & Söhne in 1845.
- 1971 — General Watch is set up as a holding company under ASUAG, with Certina/Kurth, Edox/Era, Eterna, Mido/Schaeren, Oris, Rado/Schlup, and Technos/Gunzinger.
