- 1878 — German entrepreneur Gerhard D. Wempe opens a watch shop, beginning the construction of the company that would become Wempe.
- 1976 — Workers for Lip in Besançon begin their second occupation of the factory.
- 2015 — Ernest Frédéric Schneider, who purchased Breitling in 1979 and lead the company to its modern success, dies.
