Alexander Shorokhoff is a German-Russian watch manufacturer.
Founded by a distributor for Poljot watches
In 1992 Alexander Shorokhoff - in an era of economic liberalization and economic boom - in Alzenau near Frankfurt opened a distribution for the most popular and best Russian watches of the brand Poljot. 2003, he founded his own watch company there, named after himself. A main focus of his watch manufacturing lies on engraving accarding to traditional Russian patterns as well as skeletonization and guilloche pattern, all performed in most elaborate handwork.
The model series will always carry the names of world-famous Russian artists, such as:
- Leo Tolstoy - Chronograph, driven by a system modeled on basis of the Valjoux 7734 movement, and
- Tchaikovsky - Alarm watch, driven by a Poljot 2612 (basis AS 1475).
2005, the new collection Fyodor Dostoevsky was presented. These models are round-rectangular and have a Soprod Calibre 9060 based on ETA 2892.
The watches of the brand bear the quality label „Made in Germany“.
The Avantgarde collection
This recent collection "Avantgarde" relies entirely on design: According to the Russian Suprematism "Miss Avantgarde", "Watch Dandy", "New Planet" and "Blue Royal" provoke with extraordinary design elements and an unusual combination of shapes and colors. The Avantgarde models are watches for individualists who bring a modern independent attitude to life.
2014 the German Design Council nominates the model Miss Avantgarde for the German Design Award. 2015 also the model Babylonian is nominated.
