2009 — Gerry Grinberg, noted watch seller and distributor, dies. He build Piaget into a leading luxury brand, lead the success of Corum, and drove the Swiss to innovate in quartz watches. His push to respond to the Japanese spurred Ebauches SA to develop the ultra-thin Delirium, which Grinberg distributed in the United States through his Concord brand. Later Grinberg took over Movado and built it into a powerhouse.
