The Official Cosmonauts Chronograph is a wristwatch by Fortis.

From this space chronograph by and by the whole Official Cosmonauts model range has been developed.

Since the beginning of the European-Russian space mission 1994, for the cosmonauts and astronauts an extraordinary ceremony takes place before their start into orbit. Because of its reliability, the crew receives the Fortis automatic chronograph as an official piece of equipment. The automatic chronograph movement is wound by the kinetic energy of the bearer and so ensures the independence of battery power - a mechanism that allows a precise measurement of time in emergency situations. With the embossing of their official emblems on the caseback, the Russian Space Agency and the Training Center Star City confirm the good quality of the chronographs.
