- End of 1926, early 1927 from the bankrupt estate of the Deutschen Präzisions-Uhrenfabrik e.G.m.b.H the UROFA and its sister company, the UFAG, is created.
- Walter Storz founds a pocket and wristwatch manufacturing under the label Stowa in Hornberg (Germany).
- The holding company Ébauches SA with location in Neuchâtel is founded.
- On 7 October 1927 the young swimmer Mercedes Gleitz swims through the English Channel in 15 hours and 15 minutes wearing a Rolex "Oyster", which shows the exact time afterwards.
- On 20 December 1927 the Soviet government decides to found an own Soviet watches production. (See: Amtorg.)
- The American aviation pioneer Charles A. Lindbergh crosses the Atlantic for the first time with a single plane ( "Spirit of St. Louis") from New York to Paris. Named according to him and manufactured after his concept the hour angle watch Longines Lindbergh is made.
