Subdial

A subdial is a subsection of the watch dial, which usually shows a separate function, for example the small seconds indication.

Other typical subdials are the counters or totalisers of a chronograph, or the indications of a perpetual calendar: moon phases, dates, days of week, months, leap years and so on.
