Miyota is a Japanese watch movement manufacturer.
Miyota was established in 1959 and is now a 65% subsidiary of Citizen Watch Co. Miyota is responsible for the production of mechanical movements at Citizen, and although their share is only about 1% of the total volume, at Miyota the incredible amount of 1.8 million mechanical movements per year is produced.
The movements of Miyota enjoy a good reputation among professionals and are deemed to be equivalent with traditional Swiss production.
