1826 — Glashütte watch pioneer Moritz Großmann is born in Dresden. He helps establish watchmaking in Saxony and founds the German Watchmaker School Glashütte.

1893 — Ernest Francillon & Co. of Saint-Imier register the name Longines internationally, making it the oldest watch brand.

2004 — The merger of Rolex Geneva and Rolex Biel is completed.
