The Clifton Baumatic 5-Day Chronometer is an automatic watch from Baume & Mercier introduced in 2018

Overview

Introduced at SIHH in 2018, the Clifton "Baumatic" was notable in that it uses a new "in-house" automatic movement, the first for the brand, with a silicon hairspring and escapement, a first for a Richemont Group company. This new Cal. BM12-1975A COSC was developed by ValFleurier, the in-house movement specialist at Richemont. The basic architecture is similar to the ETA 2824 but it is substantially different in most respects. Additionally, this movement delivers 120 hours of power, exceptional for a single barrel movement. As noted in the name, this movement is certified as a chronometer by the COSC.

The watch itself is impressive in design, with a 40 mm stainless steel case, cross-hair white dial, and faceted lance-shaped hour and minute hands.
