At the BaselWorld 2009 the company, after three years of research, issued its manufacture calibre AL-950 in an elaborate tourbillon version as calibre AL-980. The movement, consisting of 188 components, is characterized by a silicium escapement wheel and by a further technological innovation of Alpina: the lever is also manufactured from silicium.
