- Vacheron Constantin lets protect its brand name and logo. So today on all products of the house appears either the name "Vacheron & Constantin, Fabricant, Genève" or "Horlogorie et boite de montres", together with the Maltese Cross.
- Constantin Girard developes on behalf of Kaiser Wilhelm I. wristwatches for the German naval officers and produces two thousand of them - the first off-the-shelf wristwatches at all.
