• At the request of the Sultan of Marrakesh Louis Cartier manufactures the first waterproof wristwatch, the Cartier Pasha.

• ASUAG divides Gebrüder Schild & Co into two parts: Eterna SA for watch production and ETA SA for movements. Other components assigned to these groups include Fleurier Watch, Unitas, ARSA, ED Kummer, and Atlantic.

• The Stern family acquires Patek Philippe.
