Armin Laubscher

Armin Laubscher (1886-1955) was a banker and financier involved in the watch industry.

Armin Laubscher was born in Täuffelen in Canton Berne in 1866. His was a family of industrial watchmakers, but Armin chose a career as a banker instead.

Laubscher worked for the Société de Banque Suisse, where he was Deputy Director from 1928, then director from 1935 of the branch in Basel. He became a general manager for the bank from 1950 to 1952.

He was also involved in the watch industry, specifically Fiduciaire Horlogère Suisse (FIDHOR) in Bienne. Laubscher was Vice President from 1935 to 1945, President from 194 to 1950, and finally Director from 1951 through his death in 1955.

He was also involved in the family business, serving on the board of directors of Gebrüder Laubscher & Cie from 1933 through his death in 1955.
