IWC 69000
The 69000 family of calibres is a series of midrange in-house automatic chronograph movements produced by IWC since 2016.
Details
The 69000 calibre family is similar in architecture to the IWC 79320 and IWC 75320 which were based on the popular Valjoux 7750 series. IWC greatly modified the movement, however, including implementing a column wheel system rather than the cam-based 7750. The Cal. 69000 series can properly be called an in-house movement, which enhances the reputation of the company's watches.
Although it features bi-directional pawl winding, it is a "push-pull" design like the Seiko magic lever system rather than IWC's Pellaton system. This makes the 69000 calibres more affordable than the IWC 89000 family.
The base calibre 69370 has the classic Valjoux three-subdial layout, with small seconds at 6:00 and hour counter at 9:00 (swapped from the 7750), and minute counter at 12:00. Cal. 69355 removes the date window and hour totalizer for a "6-12" subdial layout.
All movements in the family beat at 28,800 A/h and have a power reserve of 46 hours.
