Laurent Ferrier is an independent Swiss watch manufacturer active since 2010.
Overview
Laurent Ferrier and François Servanin took third place in the Le Mans 24 Hours race in 1979 and decided to form a watch company as their next challenge. It would be 2009 before they set about making this dream happen, but finally established Laurent Ferrier SA that year.
In 2010 Laurent Ferrier, with the presentation of his first model, launched the watch brand with the Galet Classic Tourbillon Double Spiral. This watch would be selected "Best Men's Watch" at the prestigious Grand Prix d'Horlogerie Genève in November, putting the young brand on the map. Their next achievement was the 2011 Galet Secret Double Hairspring Tourbillon which features a hidden dial that opens at the push of a button or on a pre-set schedule.
Laurent Ferrier launched a micro rotor movement in 2012 with the Galet Micro-Rotor which also incorporates Abraham-Louis Breguet's "natural" escapement. The 2013 Galet Traveller adopts the micro-rotor as well, with a second time zone complication using a rising hours display at 9:00. Their Micro-Rotor models would become the staple product of the company, with the Galet Square taking the "Horological Revelation" prize at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève in 2015. The company won the Men's Complication Watch Prize at the 2018 GPHG for the Galet Annual Calendar School Piece.
