The BE-36AE is Bremont's automatic chronometer calibre, used in all of their non-chronograph watches.

It is a modified ebauche movement based on the ETA 2836-2. Bremont adds a moulded and skeletonised decorated rotor along with other embellishments. Bremont only uses the chronometer-grade version and submits all movements to COSC for chronometer certification.

All versions of the BE-36AE feature hour/minute/second hands and date. All but the Bremont Solo versions feature a day wheel as well. Date and/or day can be placed at 3:00 or 6:00, depending on model.

Although ETA rates the power reserve on the 2836-2 at 40 hours, Bremont lists just 38 hours for their BE-36AE.

The BE-36AE was introduced with the Bremont BC line in 2008 and continues to be used in many models, including the Solo, Supermarine, U-2, Descent, and EP-120.
