The Model 6090 Frankfurt Financial District Watch Large Date is an automatic GMT watch from Sinn produced from 2012 through 2016. It is the seventh model in the Sinn Frankfurt Financial District line and the first in a larger 41.5 mm case size.

Overview

In 1999, Sinn added a model to celebrate the company's home city of Frankfurt and to appeal to the business and finance professionals there. The Frankfurt Financial District Watch was designed to reflect the sensibilities of the German businessman, with clean utilitarian lines, a restrained black dial, and stainless steel case. And, reflecting the international appeal of Frankfurt, the Frankfurt Financial District Watch was designed to show the time in multiple timezones. The company suggested that it could keep track of the time in New York and Tokyo, two other major stock exchanges, while showing the local time in Frankfurt.

The original Model 6000 Frankfurt Financial District Watch was an automatic chronograph but the company added the four handed Model 6060 late in 2001. Both watches have an independently adjustable hand for a second timezone with an internal rotating bezel for a third.

This Model 6090 was a departure from the norm, with a 12-hour second timezone subdial rather than a central GMT hand, though it retained the adjustable third timezone bezel. Another novel feature was the dual-wheel "Large Date" at 12:00 on the dial. Although not as large as some "big date" offerings, it was much larger than the tiny date window found on other "Frankfurter" watches.

This was the first "up-sized" Frankfurt Financial District watch. The new 41.5 mm case would be adopted across the model line in following years.

Model 6090 is equipped with the ETA 2892A2 movement with a module adding the big date and second timezone subdial. The movement, visible through a sapphire display caseback, features a "bull and bear" motif. It is likely that the module is a Soprod TT/651.

Model 6090 was retired in 2016 but it would take two years before the 41.5 mm Model 6096 world time watch appeared. A single model was produced in just four years, making this the shortest production run of any model in the family.
