Desotos was a watch brand produced by Georges Gay SA of Les Bioux Switzerland from the 1960s to the 1980s and is the predecessor to Claude Meylan.
The Desotos brand dates to at least 1967, and was a producer of sports watches. The company claimed to be "the first firm to use assembly line methods in the production of chronographs" at that time.
By 1971, Desotos was producing ladies watches as well, but the firm appears to have focused on chronographs through the quartz crisis.
The company was purchased by watchmaker Claude Meylan in 1988 and re-launched under his name.
