Romain Gauthier
Romain Gauthier is a Swiss watchmaker and eponymous brand active since 2005.
Born in 1975 in the Vallée de Joux, Romain Gauthier precision mechanics at technical college before becoming a machine programmer-operator at a horological components manufacturer. He completed an MBA in 2002, creating the business plan for his own watch company as his thesis. After three years work, he launched his eponymous Romain Gauthier brand in 2005. He maintains a manufacture in Le Sentier capable of producing most components of his watches.
The first watch from Romain Gauthier was the Prestige HM, presented at Baselworld in 2007. The Prestige HMS followed in 2010, but it was the Logical One of 2013 that truly established his reputation. This piece won the Best Men's Complication prize at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève that year.
In 2017, Romain Gauthier launched its first automatic watch, the Insight Micro-Rotor.
