Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Gran'Sport
Reverso Gran'Sport is a sports watch line from Jaeger-LeCoultre in the Reverso family produced in the 2000s.
Overview
Although originally a sports watch, the Reverso line was surpassed in durability, water resistance, and trends by the 1990s. Jaeger-LeCoultre was leveraging the Reverso to help rebuild the brand with in-house movements and complications, so they developed a more sporting Reverso to help recapture that spirit. The result was the Gran'Sport, which featured greater water resistance and more sporting complications. The case was rounded and a unique multi-lug attachment with rubber straps gave it a distinctive look.
The Gran'Sport line was introduced in 1998 and remained on sale through the mid 2000s. In addition to the automatic Gran'Sport, a hand winding Duoface model was produced. A later addition to the lineup was the unique retrograde chronograh model. The last to be introduced was the Duetto or "Gran'Sport Lady" as it was known.
The Gran'Sport was replaced by the larger and more sporting Reverso Squadra line, with most models retired around 2006.
