Blancpain Léman Répétition Minutes Aqua Lung
Léman Répétition Minutes Aqua Lung is a complication watch by Blancpain.
With the "Léman Répétition Minutes Aqualung" (ref. 2835) Blancpain presented at the Baselworld 2007 one of the most demanding complications of watchmaking - the minute repeater - in a waterproof version.
The minute repeater in a wristwatch is a challenge for every master watchmaker. Here it is not only important to place a percussion mechanism, which can be heard at hours, quarter hours and minutes, in a confined space. But also a well-balanced alloy of the gong spring (cathedral spring) and a fine adjustment are necessary.
To achieve the water resistance a significant design problem had to be solved: So far, the impact releaese lever was connected directly with the clamping lever. When this was tensioned, he left an opening, through which water was able to penetrate into the watch. Blancpain now has solved this problem. Via a refined translation system the outer bolt and the clamping lever are connected by two racks and a transmission shaft with two setting wheels, which are sealed by two "O-rings".
The case of the "Léman Répétition Minutes Aqua Lung" has a diameter of 40 millimeters and is available in titanium or red gold 5N. The sapphire crystal is provided with anti-glare treatment.
The automatic Calibre 351 consists of 360 components, decorated by hand, assembled and fine adjusted. Therefore, each of these watches is unique, and a note on the simple matte black dial discreetly points to this fact.
