1967 — CEH-1020, a hand-built prototype with the Beta 1 movement, attains a chronometer certification from the Neuchâtel Observatory, the world's first quartz watch.

1996 — The historic German brand Union is re-established in Glashütte, having been dormant for 60 years. It would become part of Swatch Group in 2000.
