- 1825 — Breguet sells watch no. 4009, the forerunner of the chronograph, this so-called "double-seconds observation chronograph" features two pushers to start and stop timing.
- 1969 — Hamilton announces that it will stop production of watches in the Lancaster factory it had used since the company was founded in 1892. Production was moved to Switzerland and St. Croix in the Virgin Islands.
