- Jehan-Jacques Blancpain is born on March 11. He founds the firm Blancpain, which until 1932, when Frederic Emile Blancpain dies at the age of 69 years, is owned by the family and is revived 1981 by Jean-Claude Biver and Jacques Piguet.
