Adhémar Giroud (1885-1956) founded an assortiment factory, Meier & Giroud, in Bienne and was a founding member of FAR.

Adhémar Giroud was born in Le Locle in 1885.

In 1922, Giroud founded an assortiment factory in Bienne. It was initially called Meier, Giroud & Cie, but was renamed Meier & Giroud in 1929 when the limited partner left the firm.

When Fabriques d'Assortiments Réunies was founded, Giroud was made director of the Bienne branch, which was consolidated at his factory.

Giroud retired in 1951 and died in April 1956. He was called Giroud-Henchoz at this time, suggesting that his wife's name was Henchoz.
