Meier & Giroud
Meier & Giroud was a maker of assortiments in Bienne from 1924 through its takeover by FAR in 1933, at which time it was absorbed into "Branch E" of the cartel.
History
The company was founded for the manufacture and sale of anchor assortments and related items in 1924 as Meier, Giroud & Cie. It was established in Bienne as a limited partnership with two unlimited partners, Alwin Meier and Adhémar Giroud, and Hans Trösch as a limited partner.
The company was dissolved in 1929 and taken over by the general partnership Meier & Giroud.
In 1933, Fabriques d'Assortiments Réunies establishes "Branch E" in Bienne, and Adhémar Giroud was appointed director of the branch, working with Eugène Gonseth.
In 1953, Adhémar Giroud and Eugène Gonseth were removed from management of FAR Branch E, and Alfred von Weissenfluh was appointed director, with Jean Egger as manager.
