La Chaux-de-Fonds and Bienne-Biel are sometimes not considered to be part of the triangle since they are larger cities with many large manufacturers, while most Jura triangle towns and manufacturers are much smaller. The Jura triangle crosses Canton boundaries, from Canton Neuchâtel to the west, Canton Berne to the east, and Canton Jura to the north.
Most of the Jura Triangle is made up of the Franches-Montagnes plateau and the valleys of Tavannes and Saint-Imier.
