Jean-Robert Ruedin
Jean-Robert Ruedin (1905-1997) was an industrialist in the watchmaking industry best known as director of the Reconvilier Watch Company, which he inherited from his father in 1935.
Jean-Robert Ruedin was born in 1905, the youngest son of Georges Ruedin-Mathez.
Jean Ruedin was named general manager of the Reconvilier Watch Company in June 1933 with his brother André Ruedin becoming manager of ebauches. Following his father's death in 1935, Jean Ruedin became sole owner of the firm. His brother died suddenly of a heart attack in 1947, leaving Jean Ruedin the final representative of the Ruedin family at the firm they had managed for 45 years.
The factory was used by Baumgartner Frères in 1959 and demolished in 1961. The company was taken over in 1971.
Jean-Robert Ruedin died on May 6, 1997 at the age of 92.
